![]() Outdoor RPG have trouble to build a region feeling without quite more than 10 areas, open world RPG have a lot of troubles to design outdoor areas at a complexity level of a 10 levels game and when they add dungeons it's a tiny part of the game and it can't sustain the complexity of one level of a 10 levels blueprint. That's all the benefits of 10 levels dungeon blueprint, it allows an area size and complexity with hardly any equivalent. Ok one D64 area doesn't match the complexity of one SS1 area, I wonder if even SS2 matches on that, probably not if I remind well. Plus I played some more and still haven't finish the first area. Ok Couchpotatoes started collect the reviews and I put the effort browse some. D64 is a piece of art in comparison, ok no RPG and no story, but infinitely much better tricks and secrets, infinitely better shooting gameplay, even the melee gameplay with Chainsaw or Power Fist is better. Weirdly I'm playing in // (as occasional play between other games and not trying rush finish a play) Doom 64 that seems be also done by Nightdive, but for sure it's more just a port. This let not much, mood, discover the "story" indirectly, some searching and digging not awful nor that great to find stuff. About that, nothing can be done in the era of social media, but it merits trying to understand all points of view at a personal level, in a world in which hating with no consequence is just the easy way forward.Ĭlick to expand.Trying hard but it is cumulating designs that became old, bad shooting gameplay, bad melee gameplay, bad puzzles, bad inventory management, worst shop system ever (to get credits), UI much better than original but still with some cumbersome points. ![]() In most cases, they just want a choice.Ī different matter is the idiots that will take advantage of the situation to make it an agenda, and give everyone a bad rep for it. I don't believe they do it with malice, or to push a male supremacy agenda, the same as I don't think most of those who ask for female characters to be available are "woke", or want to push a feminist agenda. Generally speaking, more choice is good, but in many cases, especially indie developers, can not afford the extra work of changing the game's dialogues and re-creating their whole array of assets like armor models or animations to suit female anatomy, so it's understandable that they may not wish to commit to it. Bad from those demanding it, and attempting to impose their narrow thinking onto the creators, and bad from the counter-party that strawman their intention, misinterprets it, and insults it. The problem I see with this gender choice is that often people choose to attribute it to SJW ideals, "woke" mindsets, or politically loaded agendas, and that makes it doubly worse. ![]() It's negative on all accounts when anyone tries to impose their way of thinking into the creative choices of a developer, for any purpose. At this time in which a lot of people in the Western world have no real problems, wars are fought on every front as if the destiny of the world depended on it. ![]() But in the end, in the internet people are going to demand things, and the choice of gender in the protagonist is not different than demanding the party should have 6 characters instead of 4, the game should be RTwP instead of TB, or the difficulty should be higher or lower. I think it's important that the creative vision of each developer is respected, and they are allowed to tell their stories in the way they choose.
